Frequently asked questions

What should I include in a support message?

Include what happened, what you expected, the steps that led to it, your iPhone model, iOS version, Pantry app version and the exact error message. Screenshots can help, but remove information you do not want to share.

My sign-in email has not arrived

Check that the address was entered correctly and look in junk or spam. Request a new link if the previous one has expired or was already used. For Apple or Google sign-in, check your internet connection and try again.

How do I join a household?

Open the invitation link, enter its code manually or scan its QR code. An invitation that fails may have expired, been revoked, already been used or be restricted to a different email. Ask the owner for a fresh invitation.

Why is shared stock not appearing on another device?

Confirm both devices are online and signed into members of the same household, then reopen Pantry to trigger a refresh. Local-only households do not synchronise until they are connected to a cloud account.

How do I scan or change an NFC tag?

Use a compatible physical iPhone and hold its upper part close to one Pantry tag. Check the action after scanning. To change a tag, open the Tags page and edit or unlink its current assignment before scanning it again.

How can an owner manage a household?

The household owner can remove a member, transfer ownership, manage invitations, archive the household or permanently delete it. Permanent deletion cannot be undone.

How do I delete my account?

Open Pantry’s account screen and select permanent account deletion. If you own a household, first transfer it to another member or archive and permanently delete it. You can separately choose whether to erase local-only data from that iPhone.

How do I report a security or privacy issue?

Email support with the subject “Security report”. Describe the issue without accessing another person’s data or disrupting the service. Do not send passwords, sign-in links, invitation codes, full NFC codes or other live credentials.

Can support tell me whether food is safe?

No. Pantry is an organisational tool and support cannot determine whether food is safe to eat. Follow packaging, official food-safety advice and professional guidance where needed.
